INFORMATION COLLECTION

United Greyhound Racing (UGR) collects information such as name, address, email address, etc. (“Personally Identifiable Information”) from visitors to its website when they submit applications for membership, participate in any of the UGR promotions, request information regarding UGR or contact UGR. Although we do not do so now, we might begin to collect other types of information in the future. This information, which may range from limited personal data such as age to information regarding the computer used by the visitors, will be stored by UGR on a secured server with confidential UGR data and information. At some point in the future, UGR may use “cookies” (text files placed by a web site’s server on a visitor’s computer hard disk) to recall Personally Identifiable Information, for example, when a visitor enters a contest, participates in a promotion, etc. Visitors can set their web browser to not accept cookies; however, by doing so, they exclude themselves from the convenience this technology offers.

 

INFORMATION USE

UGR uses Personally Identifiable Information in several ways. For example:

1. To develop and maintain the record of our membership.

2. To identify UGR plans and opportunities in which a member participates.

3. To identify geographical concentrations of membership to help plan member activities and sponsorship participation.

4. To enable UGR to plan future activities and website development.

To help UGR develop and advance greyhound racing, UGR may conduct consumer market research on the website. Opportunities including prizes and special rewards may be offered to participants. Responses and information gathered in the course of such research shall be held in confidence and used for statistical analysis and program development by UGR. No Personally Identifiable Information will be shared with any third party.

UGR may also send email notification of new site features and UGR events and news to individuals on our electronic mailing lists. UGR will only do so in instances where thevisitor has elected to receive such information. Visitors may opt out of such email lists at any time. UGR reserves the right to contact any individual UGR member or email list subscriber at any time.

INFORMATION SHARING

UGR does not share any Personally Identifiable Information with third parties. We also do not sell our membership or promotional lists. UGR will disclose member identity in the process of confirming membership and licensure as required. UGR will verify standing with the National Greyhound Association, State greyhound associations and State racing authorities as necessary to verify membership qualifications and eligibility to participate in various UGR programs. 


INFORMATION SECURITY

UGR takes reasonable measures necessary to protect the security of our visitors’ Personally Identifiable Information. 


CHILDREN’S ONLINE PRIVACY PROTECTION ACT

Children are not eligible for UGR membership. UGR does not intentionally market its site to children nor does UGR knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age. Nevertheless, UGR strives to comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the event any such information is inadvertently collected.


VISITOR CONSENT

By using our site, each visitor acknowledges that they have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to the terms. Visitors expressly agree and accept that they use the site at their own risk, and that neither the UGR nor those involved in supplying content and maintaining the website are liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, incidental or punitive damages as a result of any direct or indirect use of the UGR website, including browsing its web pages, downloading materials and forms, entering contests, participating in polls or exchanging messages with other visitors on any member forum.

UGR reserves the right to amend, modify or update this Privacy Policy at any time for any reason and without notice. We encourage all visitors to periodically review this policy to keep informed of any changes.
